    Works good but bad theromstat

    by KELLY C on Aug 12, 2024

So, I ordered this to use on my chickens and large meat Turkeys. The Product arrived fast and in excellent condition. Two weeks after arriving I was able to get is all wired up and set for testing before use. I set the dial to 140 degrees. Every 15 min we were testing the temp with a digital thermometer. After 45 min it was already going over 157. I drained half the water added cold and restarted. After a day of trial and error I found setting the dial to 102 degrees I'm setting at about 140 +- 2 degrees.

    31.5 gallon scalder

by Robert on Aug 31, 2023

Arrived fast and well packaged. Heats 40°F water to 145°F in about an hour and a half. You could probably speed that time up if you used warmer water. That's what my well gives and I don't have a hot water spigot were I process yet. Going on 4 or 5 years and it does a great job maintaining the temperature of the water. Haven't had to replace the heater elements yet. Put some soap in the water to cut the water tension and oil from the birds and cleaning up is a snap. 2nd best purchase I've made for processing chickens and turkeys. 1st was the plucker!
