Description

Stromberg’s Stand Up Chick Brooder is an excellent solution for brooding and raising your chicks! Keep debris off the floor and save space with this innovative brooder design. Chicks can easily be viewed through the perforated steel sides and top, making for simple and quick monitoring without lifting the lid. Add an infrared lamp to the convenient, built-in lampstand to provide chicks with heating when required. There is plenty of space for all the chick essentials – waterers, feeders, or even an additional brooder heat plate (all sold separately). When it comes time for cleaning, the Stromberg’s Stand Up Chick Brooder has a wire floor system and removable tray. Waste and droppings are passed through the wire floor and are easily cleaned by washing or wiping the removable tray. Assembly required.

  • Walls, roof-doors, and removable tray are made of galvanized steel sheeting.
  • Brooder has the capacity for up to 50 chicks (area of 0.47 m²). This provides ample space for a warm heated area and a room temperature area, allowing your birds to self-regulate their body temperature according to their needs.
  • Its upper and side plates, with Ø12.5 mm perforations, allow for an easy interior view and efficient ventilation. All this, plus preventing harmful air currents and access by rodents and other vermin.
  • Galvanized wire floor keeps animals out of the removable tray, keeping the brooder hygienic and easy to clean.
  • Can be set-up on a table or on the ground using the included 4 x galvanized tube legs.
  • 38.5"L x 18.5"W x 24"H (headroom height is 9.5")
  • Inferred Lamp and Bulbs are sold separately

    Not Bad, But Needs Improvement

by Stand Up Chicken Brooder on May 24, 2023

This Brooder is a good deal for the price and especially if you are not handy enough to build your own. It says it can hold up to 50 chicks, which is true but as they get bigger (4-5 weeks old) they are quickly running out of room and they are not yet ready to go outside. I currently only have 15 chicks. The lid should be split so that left and right sides can be opened independently. As chicks age they are getting rambunctious and want to jump out. The holder for the heat lamp cannot be adjusted up or down to adjust the heat as they grow older. I put cardboard on the bottom as the wire openings are too big for when they are just days old. With that said there should be holders or something on the inside to hold feeder cups. Right now the feeder cups are right on the floor and get shaving in them constantly. I would like them to be raised up also to deter them from jumping into the water/feeder cups. I would like to securely hook the feeder cups to the sides. I do like the ability to pull the tray out for cleaning and I like the openings for good air flow. Again, it's not bad for the price but definitely needs to be bigger overall. My rating, Needs Improvement

    Brooder

by Bob Fletcher on Apr 11, 2023

The bottom slide out tray is poorly designed. The corners are not sealed, so any water that gets into the tray runs out onto the floor. This is a real problem for ducks who spill out lots of water.
