I have used all 3 sizes of these waterers for 25 years. If you keep the sun off of them they last forever. The only thing I had a problem with is after about 5 years the O ring wears out. They're awesome for me here in Texas. In the winter and for my Bantams I use the 3 gallon. My hens in the pullet coop used the 5 gallon and the laying hens and ducks use the 7 gallon size. I will be buying a couple of them this year. I haven't bought any in about 10 years
