Description
Pygmy Ground Doves are the smallest dove in the world, measuring approximately 5-6 inches in length—about the size of a finch. Known for their gentle nature and compact size, these birds exhibit soft, muted coloration in shades of brown, gray, and buff. Males and females look similar, with subtle differences: males have a light purple head, while females have a brown head. They are capable of quick, agile flight and thrive best in an aviary setting. Pygmy Ground Doves are excellent breeders, typically laying 2 eggs per clutch.
