Crowned Crane
Named for the distinctive, bristle-like, golden feathers atop their black heads, Crowned Cranes are truly captivating birds. Watch them bob and weave gracefully as they dance! They feature a bright red patch above their white cheeks and a striking red neck wattle. Their long black legs and beak add to their elegant appearance. The body is adorned with slate gray feathers, complemented by white wings accented with black and chestnut coloring.
Crowned Cranes stand approximately 44–48 inches tall, with males being slightly taller on average. They weigh between 6 to 8 pounds and have a wingspan of about 6.5 feet, making them impressive and majestic creatures.
