    i love these birds!

by KWB on May 26, 2026

I cannot overstate how much I love them! I ordered 6 and received 7; I really like how their color-pattern made it so I could tell I had 5 females and 2 males in their group by the time they were about 3-3.5 weeks old (in contrast, I'm still not 100% sure about the same-age buff orpingtons, haha). They already have so much personality, I've managed to lose track of time just watching them run around; it's absolutely *hilarious* to see the two lil guys play-fighting right now, though I know I'll have to separate them in the future to prevent any actual injuries from occurring. I think they might be my new favorite breed?! (don't tell any of my orpingtons, lol) I would definitely want to re-order the Standard Old English for 2027 (leaning mainly towards more Wheatens, but I wouldn't be opposed to the other colors!) I'd have posted an image of them if it had been possible.
