This is the four hole front roll out nest. These nest boxes roll the eggs out the front of the nest preventing them from getting dirty or soiled by the hens. The egg compartments are covered by a plastic flap to keep them clean until collection. Side Panels and perch brackets are galvanized; top, front and back partitions are plastic. Comes with removable plastic roll out nest bottoms for easy cleaning. Perches flip up for egg collection and to close off the nest boxes at night if necessary. The egg storage compartment is underneath the perch. Front opening is 7" x 11 1/2". Each compartment holds up to 12 eggs. This model uses nuts and bolts for construction. Experts recommend one nest box for each 4 laying hens.

I ordered this in because it looked like a pretty well made box. I liked what appeared to be a clear lid over the eggs do I didn't have to open each and look inside. It turns out that this is just a poorly attached piece of flexible plastic. I expect it to last a month or so and require frequent maintenance. Assembly took a while because the instructions were poor and everything was flathead screws (!!) so I didn't use my impact driver. Overall, for the price I expected better quality and better instructions.
