Swinhoe Pheasant Juvenile



Juveniles are younger than a year old , Male: dark blue with brown and yellow patterns on wings for juveniles, will get plumage at 2 years old.

Males wattles enlarge during breeding
Breeding season is March through May
Hen lays 3-7 eggs and incubates for 24-27 days
Male: 31 inches in length, blue- purple chest, belly, and rump, white nape, red wattles, white tail feathers and crest, has red legs
Females: have small red patch around eyes and bright red legs, Plumage is gray and goldish brown with pattern of barring and lacing, tails are brown with cinnamon and reddish tones Very hardy and adaptable
