12 Compartment Pioneer Kit Purple Martin House
The M12K Pioneer actually pioneered the aluminum Martin housing industry. In 1962, 28 of these houses were installed along the main thoroughfare in Griggsville, Illinois in a successful attempt to control and abundance of insects. With few changes, this is still the most popular house. 2 story, 12 compartment house with winter door stops, roof perch, and mounting bracket. Post not included.Use M12KP or will mount on a 1 1/4" to 1 5/16" outside diameter pipe.

Owl and Hawk Guard for Purple Martin House
The Great Horned Owls is a known predator of Purple Martins. It is easy to determine if an owl has visited a colony site. Because of its large talons and weight, a great Horned Owl will greatly damage a Martin house. When an Owl lands on a Martin house, the house floor and/or roof will be dented and bent, and entrance doors ripped open. In more costal regions of the Martin's nesting territory, owl guards have also proved effective at guarding Martin nest cavities against the Fish Crow.
